In the beginning of each FML right smack dab under the lists of posts
you'll find the following section which is chuck-full of useful
information: approximately how many people are in the FML, what issue it
is, what date it is, how to get the FAQs (FML one and ferret ones) and back
issues, how to search the archives, etc. From today's (yesterday's when
you read this) FML:

> The Ferret Mailing List
>
>Issue number: 2985 Date: 10 Mar 2000

and at the bottom you'll see (also with the issue number):

>End of FERRET-L Digest - 9 Mar 2000 to 10 Mar 2000 (#2000-2985)

Either will give you the issue number and you can find so MUCH useful
stuff in the top section! Hope this helps! You asked, so...

Heck, it never hurts. Every few months there are people who didn't
notice it before when they scrolled down to the letters too fast, and
want exactly the info right there each day -- blushing moments.
