I sent an inquiry a few months ago regarding permission to upload these newslett
ers to CompuServe.

I am a SYSOP on the Pets Forum, and operate it small mammals section and
database. I have been uploading these issues as I received them. I went on
the pretense that is was OK, since I had not received a reply.

I would like to inquire again. If there is a problem, I will gladky delete
the files from the library. Already, I think these uploads have sent about
3 new members from CompuServe.

[I suspect that I thought you meant "subscribe" when you said "upload" -
people on other networks have strange terminology - ie: people persisting
in calling USENET newsgroups "areas", "echoes", "boards", "conferences"
etc.

It is okay to gateway this list into other networks and services, provided
that I'm notified that this is occuring. One reason why I'd like to know
is that ferrets are illegal in some states, and without a little bit of
care, someone could lose theirs.

As far as I am aware, there is only one other gateway - a mail-2-news gateway
at Drew University. Nobody at Drew has ever submitted an article.
As far as I can tell, there is only one other additional member at
Compuserve.

People should remember that this mailing list is *two*-way - it's based
on people submitting questions and getting into discussions. This list
sometimes languishes for months without a single message.]
