hello everyone!
I'm a very, very new ferret owner (I've only had my little guy, Mischeif,
for 5 days and he is 7 1/2 weeks old), and I have only just read my first
newsletter today.  I noticed right away that he had 2 small dots tattooed
on the inside of his right ear, which is apparently the mark of Marshal
Farms; and after reading about some of the issues about MF I immediately
called and confirmed that my kit was indeed from there.  Are there any
problems that I should watch for in Mischeif?  I am very concerned that
some problems might arise for him, and I have never owned a ferret before,
so I don't know what to look for.  He has had mild dirreah (sp?) and a
silightly portruding anus that I am taking care of, which I think is caused
by the silightly dampened food that the store recommended that I feed him
for another couple of weeks.  Forgive my lack of knowledge about ferrets,
but I am learning new things each and every day.  I love my little
fuzzy-head very much, and I want to make sure that he is happy and safe.
And as much as I hate animal testing and everything to do with it, I am
very glad that I have Mischeif.  I will definately boycott their food and
supplies, but I will never be sorry that I bought a MF ferret, of that I
bought him from a pet store; I could never feel that way about a living
creature.  He is a very loving little guy, it's wasn't his choice where he
was born.
