In regards to dog that work out with ferrets, I have a Pitbull pup that is
great with them.  She is also very protective of them.  My older son and
his family have a pitbull that they have had from a puppy and he was also
brought up with my ferrets.  When we first got our puppy, my son's dog used
to let our puppy know that she was playing too rough with the ferrets.  He
would growl at her and snip at her if she didn't listen the first time!
Now they both think they own the ferrets.  Great dog around ferrets.  I
have a few picures on my site with Jewel (our pup) and Spirit , one of our
ferrets.  They sure are a crazy bunch.  Pitbulls are also very smart and
learn fast.  Just my opinion.  They are also great around kids (hooman
that is).
