Hi Gang.
This is my first post on FML as I have only been a subscriber for alittle
over a week now, but here goes.

I.M.H.O. I have to go along with Rick at UFO. Ferrets are not disposable
animals.Rick is trying to get a handle on what he sees as a growing problem
what he calls F.A.D. I agree. I too have held these little joyfull
bundles of fur as they died. I know how it effected me. I have 11 of my
own furrbutts to take care of and now due to one of my niece's short
commings i now have 14 more to take care of. Yes that's a lot of furballs
or as I lovingly call them carpetmonsters!!! Yes they eat alot. Yes they
require going to the vets more often. Yes I pay the expenses out of a
strained budget. My wife and I both work but bills still pile up. BUT!!!!
I made a commentment long ago that if I took in ANYTHING into my house to
provide a home, it had a home for LIFE!!!!. I am shocked at the number of
ferret folks that took umbrage at Rick's first posting. While folks are
outraged by what they called "insensitivity" Rick and Co. was trying to
save more of these creatures that everyone here in this forum claims to
love and cherish so dearly. I know how it feels to watch while one of
these "babies" breath their last and cross over the rainbow bridge. If I
can for any reason keep that moment at bay without hurt to the fert, I
will. All Rick is trying to do is to educate US who know something about
these critters so we may educate others so Rick doesn't have to go through
the pain of watching some little abandoned fert go through torment
wondering why "Mom and Dad left me here....????" Rick You my friend are a
LEADER... So Lead ON!!!!!!

On another note to the guy trying to find "meat protien" I have some
special needs guys too. Here's what I feed them. It's a take off from
Sam Young's Kit gruel and duck soup.

take one can of 8 in 1 Ultra Blend canned ferret food. ( mine like the Beef
the best)
6-8 ozs of pediatric Electrolyte ( I use the Walmart brand- grape flavor of
course)
1-2 ozs Ferretone
3-4 measures of Carnation Soy Milk baby Formula.
1 oz of 8 in 1 Ferret Vita-sol water soluable vitamins.

Blend all together in a blender for 2 minutes. Warm to taste in microwave
but not too long!!!! Test it first to make sure it isn't too hot. Serve
just enough for a single feeding and keep the rest in ther refer until next
feeding time . My little survivor Whiley has liuved on this stuff for
three weeks now and he is starting to gain weight back!!!!! try this.
It works, I know!!!

Thank you for allowing me to "bare it all"!!! I am really sold out to
ferrets and it does my heart good to know that there are others out there
who feel the same.. Keep Furry Folks
