Dear Animal Lover,
Your observation that ferrets are very intelligent is correct. My alpha
ferret Thor is an Intellifert(tm) - A ferret of superior intellect (well
he certainly outsmarts me a lot).
>Got me thinking the other day, do our fuzzies miss us when we are not home
>with them, when we go to work, to the store, do they long for us to return
>to them??
*My* observations on *my* ferrets: My ferrets are free roam when I am at
home, caged otherwise. When they are out, although they run and play and
seem to be ignoring me, they are actually keeping a "watching brief" on my
whereabouts and activities. Some examples:
- If I pop out for a few minutes to hang out some washing, the ferrets will
sit by the barrier when I exit and will still be there waiting for me when
I return 5 or 10 minutes later.
- It is not unusual for a ferret to cease play, come look for me, find me,
then go back to play.
- I am *always* spotted if I go into the kitchen. The kitchen is equated
with food preparation, which is equated to tidbits for ferrets!
-David, Thor, Grover Lady Penelope and fosters Snuff and Milly.
