I've been reading about the allergic reactions to the pine bark and was
just wondering something. I got my first two ferts in January of this
year, so I'm relatively a novice. I got a male sable <Fred> and a female
Siamese <Wilma>. Originally I used the pine bark, but stopped after a week
and put a towel down on the bottom of the cage and switched to litter in
the litter pan. This in itself is not a problem. The problem is, and
again it might not be a problem, is that Wilma constantly has a hacking
cough. whether or not she is in the cage. she'll run around, play, then
stop in her tracks and give one or two coughs like she's hocking up a
fur ball or something. I've spoken to the vet, who's good, but not a
specialist in ferts, and he says its no problem. Now, after reading the
past few issues, could this be an allergic reaction to something? and if
so, any ideas? I don't think its the litter as she tends to do the
coughing more out of the cage than in it.
Thanks
Mark.
