I had two who underwent the deed in January. If he is in rut you will
still need to keep him separated for a few weeks, up to six. For the
testerone levels to drop and him to become a normal ferret again.
As for postop care, all you need to do is inspect the op site for any
drainage, redness, or swelling. Those are signs of infection. If that
happens off to the vet you go for antibiotics. One of mine got infected,
the other had no problems at all. If there is an infection keep it clean
and dry. I used a wet warm wash cloth and dial soap. I chose dial because
of its bacteriostatic effects. I washed his scrotum three to four times
a day.
